There are so so so so so many sexual wellness and sex toy companies out there. Some are better than others (better is relative—but when I use it, I’m talking about ethics, product quality, and other values that align with mine). Let’s talk a little bit about LELO as a company, and then we’ll get into the LELO IDA™ Wave Dual Vibrator Review.
LELO is a Swedish company that designs, develops, and manufactures sex toys and personal massagers. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, LELO was founded by industrial designers Eric Kalén and Carl Magnuson, and engineer Filip Sedic in 2002. They started with 10 employees in one office and now have over 600 employees across offices worldwide. Yay for growing small businesses!
LELO’s design approach is to make these toys and massagers not representative of any particular sexual anatomy, but rather innocuous-looking, non-gendered toys. While many companies do this now, LELO was one of the first to implement it. LELO has been recognized for pioneering creations in the adult industry, including the first couples’ toys with motion controller functions and the first sex toys to employ tactile sensing.
When you go to the ”about us” section of their website, it says, ”But LELO is not just a pleasure toy brand; it’s a self-care movement aimed at those who know that satisfaction transcends gender, orientation, race, and age. We’re offering the experience of ecstasy without shame, the pleasure of discovering all the wonders of one’s body, arming our customers with confidence that leads to a fulfilled intimate life.” See why I love them?
Now that you have more of an idea of who/what LELO is about, let’s move into the LELO IDA™ Wave Review.
The IDA Wave™ is a dual vibrator with LELO’s patented WaveMotion™ technology (a rotating finger-like massage motion for G-spot stimulation) and connects to the LELO app on iPhone or Android. It has two motors to stimulate the G-spot internally and the clitoris stimulation — all while being hands-free.

How to Use the LELO IDA™ Wave Dual Vibrating Massager & Who It’s Best For
How do you use this beautiful toy? Well, here’s a quick rundown:
Step 1: Hold the toy in your hand and apply any lubricant to it. Then, insert the arm into the vagina and put the larger surface area onto your clitoris.
Step 2: Turn it on and connect it with the LELO App.
Step 3: Play! Explore the different settings and what feels good. Enjoy.
The LELO IDA™ Wave is a great toy for anyone who enjoys or wants to explore dual stimulation and an app-controlled vibrator. It’s not too wide or deep, so folks who experience pain during deep penetration may enjoy this toy.
Pros & Cons
PROS:
- Can be totally hands-free with the app and/or a partner
- Varying intensities for varying likes of the people using it
- Non-gendered looking (although meant for someone with a vagina)
- 10-year quality guarantee, 1-year warranty
- High-quality materials, app, and motors
CONS:
- It’s not inexpensive (it’s definitely a luxury toy)
Overall Review & Takeaways
I really like this toy. It’s unique (even though there are 1,000 other app-controlled vibrators out there) and feels different from other toys of a similar style I’ve used. You can feel the quality (which reminds me of the Womanizer DUO, which is another type of dual stimulation), and the app is super cool and easy to use. 5/5 stars. If you can swing the price, it’s worth every penny.
